Now, ome people are just crazy about SRK. I don't disrespect this feeling. It is fair and Of course he deserves the fans he has. His over-ratedness is about him and him alone. Without any comparisons. I, in MY blog, do not wish to advocate for any actor. All the actors mentioned are great actors. Amitabh Bachchan, Amir Khan, SRK, Akshay Kumar... All are fabulous actors. All have done great work and also made their share of mistakes. Now, that is so very human.
What I had tried to bring forth even in my previous blogs, SRK's ability to mould media in his favour. Many people like to read it like this. "Ability", thats not the word I would use or even agree with. Belonging to the PR industry though, I strongly believe that PR is what is suppressing true journalism. Thats what is being done...
I dont have an objection to the way media is hyping everything about SRK, but what I dont agree with is the fact that media ridicules other stars on doing the same actions in their respective purview. That is not fair. On this people would say that it is not his fault. In all my blogs, I have never said that it is his fault. He is doing what he feels is right and of course with full dedication and commitment but the way it is portrayed by the media.

Well, few people have counted some of the flops of Aamir and forgot about
1) Badshah (1999)
2) English Babu Desi Mem (1996)
3) Ram Jaane (1995)
4) Chamatkar (1992)
5) Maya Memsaab (1993)
6) King Uncle (1993)
7) Chahat (1996)
8) Army (1996)
and the list is too long... But all that I wrote in my blog was considering all those. I was wondering when did I speak about acting?? and hit of flop films?? Well, if we really sit down to comparing acting skills, I am sure our dearest SRK will be in a highly embarassing position. Therefore I wish not to continue listing the names of the flops and also no comments about his acting.

SRK-An over-rated Superstar
Shah Rukh Khan... A name that speaks for itself. A brand that sells. A brand value beyond imagination. A highly talented actor. The wittiest media-spokesperson.
All this can not be denied completely. After all SRK is a name that has climbed the heights himself without any support, and we all love him, respect him for that. An actor who started as a small time TV actor with Doosra keval, Fauji and Circus stepped in the mainline hindi films with films like Baazigar, Deewana and then Darr. Was known for his unique style of speaking and dialogue delivery. He soon made it big... really big. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge saw the birth of the new romantic hero of bollywood and the biggest of all times. The whole industry along with the whole world saw how this star grew into the new SUN in the sky of Hindi Film Industry. Movies like DDLJ, DTPH, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Chak De India and many more are just proofs of how well this man can act and what a great entertainer he is. Marvellous is the right word for them.
But then I look at films like Om Shanti Om, Main Hoon Na, Badshah and realise that these were also hits but whats different about them is that the storyline lacked the punch. It was just the great marketing by the promoters and the name Shah Rukh Khan. Today SRK, is a brand, and a well-established one. So much so, that he is being compared with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan who are by far better actors than him. This is what I call by over-rated. He totally deserves all the hit films and the awards that he gets(Well...almost). But Man! Look at Taare Zameen Par, Lagaan, Mangal Pandey, Rang De Basanti.... Is there any comparison? He stands at platform much much MUCH higher than SRK in terms of acting. I think the media, and specially SRK's fans must realise the facts and be unbiased and just while talking about any star. And if we start talking about Amitabh Bachchan, SRK would not even find an existence.
He is no doubt a SUPERSTAR. But the kind of status that the media is giving him, he is not that. To a great extent, media is biased also towards SRK. We all saw how he was nastily witty about everybody in the filmfare. In every interview of his, we find some or the other comment about the other members of the same fraternity. But the media passes it off calling it witty but when a similar action is done by another star, also much higher than him in stature, the media calls it nasty and blows it out of proportion. That I think is not fair. Over-rating a star is not what Journalism should be all about...
I just wish that the Indian newspapers would soon wake up to this fact or we shall remain victims of poor journalism.
